NorthvillePlacid Trail Guide and Map Pack (5th Edition) Adirondack

Unknown to many, the Northville-Placid Trail runs for more than 130 miles through some of the most remote backcountry in the Northeast.. One of the Adirondack Mountain Club’s (ADK) first major projects was the construction of the Northville-Placid Trail in 1923. The trail currently runs from Northville in the southern Adirondacks to Averyville in the High Peaks Wilderness region, just outside Lake Placid. The trail travels through lake country and mostly avoids mountains during the whole stretch of the trail. The single highest.

Northville. 134 miles to Lake Placid. The Northville-Lake Placid Trail is the oldest long-distance trail east of the Mississippi River, established by the Adirondack Mountain Club in 1922. One hundred and thirty-four miles from Northville on the southern edge of the Park, north through the wilderness heart of the central Adirondacks — Piseco, Spruce Lake, the West Canada Lakes, the Cedar.. on the Northville-Placid Trail means recognizing our impact on the environment, and doing the best we can to leave the trail, and surrounding ecosystem, the way we found it. Planning ahead and preparing for the trip, no matter the length, is a key to success. Part of this is picking up resources like the for the NPT. The NPT turns 100! The this.
